Mental Health First Aid is exactly what it suggests, a first aid approach to mental health. It follows a training programme that teaches participants how to notice and support an individual who may be experiencing a mental health concern and provide help – often through connecting them with a route to help and support.
Syllabus for Mental Health First Aid Level 2 Training
First Aid for Mental Health related subjects covered including:
- What is First Aid for Mental Health?
- Identifying mental health conditions
- Providing advice and starting a conversation
- Stress
- Mental health conditions
- Drugs and alcohol
- First Aid for Mental Health action plan
- First Aid for Mental Health in the workplace
Delegates: A maximum of 12 students allowed on the course and must be a minimum of 14 years of age.
Assessment: practical and questioning (open and multiple-choice).
Certification: A Mental Health First Aid Level 2 certification will be issued, subject to successfully completing the assessment.
