First Aid Annual Refresher – The HSE strongly recommends that all first aider’s should receive first aid annual refresher training during the three year period as a qualified first aider. This course can be delivered directly in your workplace anywhere in Liverpool, Manchester or North Wales.
Who is the first aid annual refresher training course suitable for:
The half day attendance course is available to any first aider who are still within the three year certification period.
This course ensures that you are up to date on the key techniques in order to administer simple but sometimes life-saving techniques.
This three hour First Aid Annual Refresher course provides first aiders with an opportunity to practise and update their skills as a qualified first aider, at any time while their first aid certificate is valid.
With all subjects covered in just half a day, this course is an ideal way to satisfy HSE requirements whilst minimising disruption to your organisation’s day to day activities!
The course duration is 3 hours. We are able to deliver this course to you at a time that will suit you and your working environment – please discuss your timings with us when you book this course.
In line with the revised First Aid Guidance issued on 1st October 2009* this half-day annual refresher course is suitable for those staff who have completed either the three-day First Aid at Work or the one-day Emergency First Aid at Work courses. This is an ideal course to help keep your first aiders updated; it also provides an opportunity for them to ask questions to their instructor and peers.
Under the current guidelines it is strongly recommend that first aid trained staff attend a half-day update every twelve months – before completing full re-qualification training at the three year point.
First Aid Annual Refresher – course content:
At the end of the course participants will have their skills and knowledge updated in order that they remain competent to deliver first aid in the work place.
- Acting safely, promptly and effectively in an emergency
- First Aid Legislation
- Treatment of an unconscious casualty
- Primary Assessment
- Secondary Assessment
- Manage wounds and bleeding with the use of bandages and slings
- Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
- Wounds and bleeding
- Spinal Injury
- Treatment for shock
First Aid Annual Refresher training – Assessment / Certification:
The instructor observes the learners practice sessions as the training progresses to ensure the required level of understanding and skill is reached.
Under the current guidelines it is strongly recommend that first aid trained staff attend a half-day update First Aid Annual Refresher every twelve months – before completing full re-qualification training at the three year point.
On completion of the course, each participant will be issued with a certificate of attendance. There will be no formal assessment.
