Fire Safety Training – The QA Level 2 Award in Fire Safety (RQF) is a regulated and nationally recognised qualification. Specifically designed for anyone who has a responsibility for fire safety in the workplace, such as designated fire wardens also fire marshals.

Course aims: This 1-day course is intended for individuals who are responsible for fire safety in their workplace. The course aims to enhance learners’ proficiency and understanding of fire safety, including topics such as the causes of fires, potential fire hazards, principles of fire safety management at work, and the responsibilities of a fire warden. Additionally gives learners the opportunity to carry out practical demonstration.

Course Content: This Fire Safety Level 2 course is interactive and includes the use of slide presentations, videos and group discussion. Course content also includes:

  • Causes of fires in the workplace
  • The fire triangle
  • Hazards during and after a fire
  • Fire and smoke spread
  • Identifying and controlling fire hazards
  • Fire prevention
  • Fire detection and raising the alarm
  • Means of escape
  • Principles of extinguishing fires
  • Fire fighting equipment and systems
  • Fire safety laws
  • Duties and responsibilities of employers and employees
  • Undertaking a fire safety inspection
  • Fire safety risk assessments
  • Contents of a fire safety briefing
  • Roles and responsibilities of the nominated Fire Warden:
  • On a day to day basis

Assessment and Certification:

Assessment for this Fire Safety training course will be carried out by the instructor throughout the course. Delegates will need to complete a theory assessment (Multiple Choice Question Paper). On completion of the training, successful trainees will receive an accredited Fire Safety Level 2 Qualification, valid for 3 Years.
