This two-day course introduces site supervisors to their legal responsibilities regarding health and safety, welfare and environmental issues.
The course is endorsed by the United Kingdom Contractors Group (UKCG) as the standard training for all supervisors working on UKCG sites. This course is delivered at our training centre in Liverpool – It’s an interactive course, with case studies, classroom discussion, group work and individual/group presentations

The SSSTS Training Scheme course has been designed to meet the needs of site supervisors working within the construction industry. This course is for first line managers – those who have to, or are about to, acquire supervisory responsibilities. The course aims to highlight the need for risk assessment in the workplace, implementation of the necessary control measures and adequate communication and monitoring in order to provide and maintain positive standards of health, safety and welfare on a construction site.
The course is designed to ensure that candidates have an overview and understanding of their responsibility for supervising and helping to oversee safety in a construction site environment.
2 Days – This course is delivered over 2 days and delegates must complete the 2 days to meet the SSSTS award.
There are no formal qualifications required to attend the 2 day SSSTS course however, experience within the construction environment is recommended.
Cost: £250.00 + Vat (includes cost publication, registration/certification and lunch/refreshments)
This course covers all legislation relating to construction and focuses on aspects of Health and Safety which have a direct impact on the safe working in the construction, building and civil engineering industries. The course will give the delegates the skills and knowledge to carry out a risk assessment in the workplace. The course will also focus on the implementation of specific control measures and good communication to maintain a Health & Safety culture among the workforce. Course content includes:
- The Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and other relevant regulations
- Identification of specific construction site issues including COSHH, Working at Height
- Control of subcontractors
- Behavioural safety
- How to carry out risk assessments and the need for method statements
Assessment and Certification:
Successful candidates will be awarded the Site Safety Plus CITB Site Supervisor Safety Training Certificate. This certificate will remain valid for 5 years.
