Anaphylaxis first aid training – Anaphylaxis is a severe allergic reaction and is potentially life threatening. It normally occurs after someone with a severe allergy is exposed to the substance they are allergic to (normally a food, insect sting or medicine).
This 3 hour course is designed to provide the candidate with the competence, confidence and skills to deliver immediate treatment to people suffering from anaphylaxis.

This Basic Life Support and Management of Anaphylaxis First Aid Training course is designed to help staff who supports an adult or child with anaphylaxis. The training will equip the delegate with the skills and knowledge to be able to respond to the condition in a confident manner. This includes the safe administration of an epi-pen. The course is focused towards adult carers or staff who works in a child care environment such as Childminders, Nursery staff and Early Years staff.

The Anaphylaxis first aid training will focus on delivering the knowledge and understanding on the Prevention, recognition and treatment of severe allergic reaction. The course also includes the use of auto-injectors and CPR in the work environment.
With allergies on the increase and as many children have now been prescribed adrenalin auto-injectors this course also covers the required content for staff to be trained to deliver these injections when necessary.

Anaphylaxis First Aid Training and use of (Epi-Pen) – Course Content:
Delegates will be required to take active participation in the practical demonstrations of the EpiPen®, Anapen® and JextPen® in order to achieve certification.

Assessment and Certification:
Whilst there is no final exam, the tutor carries out continuous assessment and candidates receive a Certificate of attendance valid for 1 year.
